Gustav Fridolin was born in Vittsjö, Hässleholm Municipality, Sweden. He joined the Green Party in 1994 and served as one of two spokespersons of the Young Greens of Sweden between 1999 and 2003.

Gustav Fridolin first served as a member of the Swedish parliament between 2002 and 2006, representing the Stockholm Municipality constituency. Aged nineteen at the time, he was one of the youngest MPs ever to have been elected in the world and the youngest in Swedish history until 2010. During his first term in parliament he served as a member of the Committee on the Constitution.

Fridolin again ran as a candidate for parliament in the 2010 election and was elected, representing the Skåne County North and East constituency. In may 2010 he was also elected spokesperson of the Green party togeather with Åsa Romson.

Gustav Fridolin is also a teacher and has written four books.

Second speaker booked! Dr Anders Sandberg


Dr Anders Sandberg is a researcher at the Future of Humanity Institute at the University of Oxford. With a background in computer science and computational biology Anders now dedicates most of his research on the social and ethical implications of new technologies, especially methods for improving human and artificial intelligence. Anders research also revolves around global disasters and how to deal with them rationally. In addition to his academic achievements, Anders is also a dedicated science popularizer. He was previously a science producer for the exhibition “Se Hjärnan!” which toured in Sweden 2005-2007, was co-founder of the think tank Eudoxa and is also research associate at the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, Oxford Centre for Neuro Ethics and the James Martin Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology.

Our opening speaker will be Gustav Borgefalk. Gustav is a 27 year old Swedish entrepreneur and co-founder of the global platform StudentCompetitions.com – Gustav is passionate about changing the world for the better, using new technology and young talent to tackle the great challenges of our times. He is an important leader and inspiration to students who want to challenge themselves and the world to create a more sustainable future. One of Gustav’s recent projects came out of his time at Singularity University on NASA Ames in 2011, along with young leaders from all over the world.
